" Complete Works, Vol. 2 (1939-1943) continues Document's exhaustive overview of Cripple Clarence Lofton's
recordings. As with the other installments, the disc features some
classic performances, long running time, exacting chronological
sequencing, and poor fidelity (all cuts are transferred from original
acetates and 78s). The serious blues listener will find all these
factors to be positive, but enthusiasts and casual listeners will find
that the collection is of marginal interest." AMGMonday, September 23, 2013

To me, Document is doing an amazing job in preserving the heritage of the blues and recordings of early African American music. The fidelity issues are worth
tolerating given the age of the recordings. I actually bought this volume after you posted the first and wasn't disappointed. It and Document's catalog are a must for us blues fanatics. Thanks for posting this and for all the other great selections posted this week.
These fine Cripple Clarence Lofton performances are new to me. Not bothered at all by the fidelity issues - it's exciting these classic sides survive! Thanks.
Thanks for more of these Document releases!
