Well, here is the last of the CD volumes of this series that I can offer - if you use the Stompin' tag below and look in the notes of Vol 1, you will see nice, fast links for volumes 6-27 - but a note is necessary - these are from the original LP series which is formatted completely differently from the CD's. The files originated from the "rideyourponytwighlightzone " fellahs a couple years ago.Frankly, if anyone has more of these CD versions. I'd still like to feature those as I prefer the composition of them so far.
Stompin' 5 is another entertaining collection of 'A minus' to 'B plus' material culled from singles cut on various small east coast labels. Great jukebox material here, no hidden wonders or anything, but not a bad track in the bunch either.

let me add my 2 cents here to untangle this. there are in fact TWO comp sets called stompin'. the ones you are posting have 32 volumes and i got them originally from rockabillyranch. there is another stompin box set, 1-27 and now posted in the comments of vol. 1, which i originally got from twilightzone. they are not just a different format but as far as i can tell 2 completely different sets. so . . . if you need 6-32 of THIS comp, contact me and i can get them going on zippyshare some time later this weekend (davidwolfsonnc@gmail.com)

i also have a set of 18 cds of obscure r&b from STILL records, with some very bizarre front and back covers
I know some don't like compilations and I respect their reasons but I'll readily admit that I am a sucker for each and every one that has been posted here. First, they fill in the many gaps that I have in my knowledge of rhythm and blues and soul, and introduce me to major and minor artists I have not yet heard before. Or they remind me of artists I may not have thought about for years
Second, collections like the great Blowing The Fuse series you posted enable me to introduce my daughters to the music of their grandparents' and my generation, and provide a great overview of the development of rhythm and blues and soul music over a period of time. My nineteen-year old is hopelessly lost to contemporary music which is fine, to each his or her own, but my twenty-two year-old is intrigued by and enjoys much of the music in collections such as this. They give her a sense of musical history.
So thanks so much for posting this and volumes 6 through 27. They serve as memory in lieu of brain cells that have disappeared or weakened with age.
Thank you very much for the current set. I, too, have the OTHER Stompin' set. 27 volumes and ripped from vinyl. don't remember where i got it. Might have been Twilight Zone as suggested above by davidwolfsonnc.
i do have vol 1-17, and as far as i know it are the cd versions. You can find them on soulseek: user heup - /pop, rock, blues L-Z / various artists / stompin'

I am titling this set as "KC Stompin" to differentiate... thought you might like that KC.
My impression is that the two sets are pulled from the same body of material but done in different formats and with entirely different sequencing, likely put together by different individuals

King, i'm not sure they are from the same pool of material. i did a search on some random tunes from one and they didn't show up in the other, so if there is some overlap, so be it. one can always delete what one already has . . .
Well, no. Not the same pool of material, but some of the same artists are on both comps. Although The set I have has more well known artists among the obscure ones. So while you get, for instance, artists like "Dr. Gaddy", "Moohah", "The Table Toppers" and "Mr. Sad Head", you also get Lloyd Price, Dave Bartholomew and Jackie Brenston and Rufus Thomas (Though nothing too close to a real hit). The longer the series went on the less the common artists are represented.
Later in the series were some issues with titles, like "Volume 20-The Country Blues", featuring blues artists, such as, L.C. Green, Juke Boy Bonner and Joe Hill Louis. Other Titled releases include "Big Band Jump", "Blues Shouters Issue" and "The Sixties Sound", and so on, all of which basically follow the theme suggested by the title.
