This blog has always been a source to promote relatively unknown talented Blues performers.as well as giving the classics another airing for a new generation...Long may it continue...Cheers
Many, many thanks for the introduction to Pride's music. The only downside to this blog is an indirect consequence of the music posted; that is, I wistfully regret that I did not hear or see perform so many of the great artists whose music you have posted and about whom you have written. I'll recycle and apply to Pride a comment you once wrote in response to a comment about Percy Mayfield's music, Lou Pride was and his music is "special". I wholeheartedly agree with Gus's comments but will expand his remarks to note that this blog has always been a source to promote relatively unknown blues, rhythm and blues, soul, and gospel performers. More recently, it has ventured into other genres influenced or created by descendents of the African diaspora and even introduced us to or re-familiarized us with greats from the African continent. Better and more succinctly put than anything else I could write, "Man, this is great music that warrants discovery or rediscovery".
