Joe Tex was one of the most original soul stars of all
time. With his raspy voice and a hint of Little Richard, he certainly
had a style of his own. One listen to his number 'Yum Yum Yum' and
you'll get an idea of his rock and roll / proto-soul style.
This is the most comprehensive set of his singles yet
released on CD and includes all the singles he made before achieving
fame in 1964.
Arguably the most underrated of all the 60s soul
performers, Joe Tex, with his unique style singlehandedly laid some of
the most important parts of rap's foundation.

Thank you King. Can't wait to hear some songs that I haven't heard yet
Nice one KC !
I do have these but only as mp3 - Nice to have as lossless
Cheers bro
Many thanks for this, lots of tracks here I haven't heard before.
Many thanks for the Tex, KC. Little known fact. He used to live in Baton Rouge, and was building a guitar shaped mansion there, but he never completed it before he died. Was bulldozed and the old property is now on some of the priciest land in that city (Highland Rd.).
Many thanks. Same for me, I just owned the recordings post 64. Great singer and damn good soul music !
Thanks A Lot !
A lot of numbers I had never heard before. Good music! Tx.
Would you be able to reup the second disk? Link is dead.
