Had Junior Parker not died Far too soon, who knows what additional treasures he could have left us. Given a longevity like Bobby or B.B. he appears to have had the creativity to have been a major dude for a long time. This Groove Merchant LP from 1971 certainly seems to indicate that he had plenty left to say and the open ears to stay relevant.
Ya gotta love the cover!

Thanks a lot. Junior Parker is great singer in my opinion.
listened to this today - nice one, King.
Thanks for this, KC. I think I've managed to track down a copy of Junior Parker's 'Blues Man' (1969, Minit) on vinyl, the one that I was seeking in the Chat Box. Once I've got it, cleaned it up and lovingly digitised it I'll share it here somehow.
And as if by some kind of malign magic the online dealer at Music Stack has just contacted me to say he can't find the LP in his racks. Bummer.
Cliff and I both have some back-channel requests out that should produce it eventually - I think Discogs has a few available as well - pretty sure it is vinyl only as I've not come across any evidence of a cd version
Thanks KingCake. Listened to it yesterday. great album.
That sounds great, King Cake.

Thanks King
Thanks - only know his older stuff.
Already have this...but I noticed JJ's comment re 'Blues Man' in 2014...I have a reasonable LP mp3@320 d/l from unknown source - Wonder if he still wants this ( I do have a contact email ) Did you or Cliff ever have any luck ?
I would be interested in that Minit release as well. I do own the LP but have no way to properly digitize it.
Mille grazie for this never seen before item!
Do you have the live album by Junior and Jimmy McGriff? Would kill to see that one up here sometime. Thanks for all the other great posts.
