the man who was single handedly responsible for developing the New orleans sound that dominated the airwaves from the 40s till the 60s. A true legend.
Also, for anyone who has not heard of Cosimo, or doubts his true genius, there's a 4 cd collection, released in 2007 (I believe on Ace), entitled "The Cosimo Matassa Story." Everyone from Fats to Sugar Boy Crawford on it. Worth getting.
